Romania, scolded by the EC because of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive

Romania, scolded by the EC because of the Energy Performance of Buildings DirectiveOn October 17th, the European Commission sent Romania a motivated notification for failure to comply with the integration of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive into the national legislation.

The provisions of this European document had to be nationally adopted the later July 9th 2012 and Romania didn’t accomplish this requirement.

The Directive says that all member states must have an energetic performance certification for buildings, must oblige citizens to periodically verify their heating and air conditioning systems and starting with 2021 all new buildings to receive the name of “almost zero energy consumption buildings”.
