Helen investește în neutralitatea carbonului pentru încălzirea urbană cu o centrală de pompe de căldură și două cazane electrice în Patola
Helen intenționează să îmbunătățească parcursul Helsinki-ului spre neutralitatea carbonului prin construirea unui complex inovator de producție de căldură în districtul Patola. Noua facilitate va include o centrală de pompe de căldură aer-apă la scară industrială și două cazane electrice, fiecare cu o capacitate de 50 MW, însumând o capacitate totală de producție de căldură de 100 MW.
Această centrală de pompe de căldură aer-apă, prima de acest tip la nivel global, utilizează tehnologie avansată pentru a folosi aerul exterior ca sursă de căldură. Capacitatea de producție a pompei de căldură va varia între 20 și 33 MW, în funcție de temperatura ambiantă, și va utiliza dioxid de carbon ca agent frigorific natural în cadrul sistemului său în circuit închis. Remarcabil, această centrală va fi operațională la temperaturi exterioare de până la -20°C, făcând-o extrem de versatilă și eficientă.
„Dezvoltarea acestei centrale de pompe de căldură inovatoare marchează un reper important pentru noi. Va reduce drastic emisiile de CO2 asociate încălzirii în Helsinki, aliniindu-ne obiectivelor noastre de neutralitate a carbonului. În plus, oferă potențialul pentru stabilitatea prețurilor pentru clienții noștri datorită capacităților sale de producție ajustabile,” a declarat Juhani Aaltonen, VP de Investiții Verzi la Helen.
Ministerul Afacerilor Economice și al Ocupării Forței de Muncă a recunoscut beneficiile de mediu ale proiectului acordând o subvenție energetică pentru a sprijini centrala de pompe de căldură. Se estimează că această nouă tehnologie va reduce emisiile de CO2 cu 26.000 de tone anual. În total, complexul de încălzire din Patola va atinge o reducere anuală de 56.000 de tone de emisii de CO2.
Construcția complexului de încălzire va începe la sfârșitul anului 2024, iar facilitatea este anticipată să fie operațională până în sezonul de încălzire 2026-2027. Acest proiect reprezintă un pas esențial în reducerea amprentei de carbon a Helsinki-ului și în avansarea soluțiilor energetice durabile.
