PepsiCo România investeste în transportul sustenabil cu achiziția primului autocamion electric Volvo FM
PepsiCo, lider mondial în industria produselor alimentare și băuturilor, anunță astăzi achiziția primului său autocamion electric, modelul Volvo FM Electric 4×2. Acesta va contribui la aprovizionarea cu materii prime și cartofi a fabricii de snacksuri din Popești-Leordeni, marcând un pas important în direcția sustenabilității.
În cadrul programului pep+ (PepsiCo Positive), această achiziție reprezintă un progres semnificativ în eforturile PepsiCo de a reduce amprenta de carbon și de a promova sustenabilitatea în întregul său lanț de aprovizionare. Adăugarea acestui autocamion electric la flota din România subliniază angajamentul global al companiei de a atinge emisii nete zero până în 2040.
„Prin achiziționarea primului nostru autocamion electric, ne confirmăm angajamentul ferm față de sustenabilitate și reducerea impactului asupra mediului. Alegerea modelului Volvo FM Electric 4×2 reflectă nu doar obiectivele noastre de eficiență, ci și determinarea noastră de a adopta tehnologii avansate pentru un viitor mai sustenabil,” a declarat Daniel Drăgușin, Supply Chain Director, PepsiCo România.
Modelul Volvo FM Electric 4×2 are o capacitate totală instalată de 540 kWh și poate susține o autonomie de până la 300 km per ciclu de încărcare. Acesta va fi încărcat la stațiile proprii ale companiei din fabrica din Popești-Leordeni, unde anul trecut au fost instalate stații de încărcare rapidă pentru vehicule grele.
„Autocamioanele noastre electrice sunt esențiale pentru atingerea obiectivelor de reducere a emisiilor la nivel de grup: 50% până în 2030 și 100% până în 2040,” a declarat Per Forsberg, Director General Volvo România. „Mulțumim PepsiCo România pentru încrederea acordată și suntem mândri să livrăm primul Volvo FM Electric unui lider al industriei de produse alimentare și băuturi angajat în reducerea emisiilor de CO2.”
La sfârșitul anului 2023, flota PepsiCo România a ajuns la 80% vehicule hibride. Pe baza datelor furnizate de producătorul auto, PepsiCo estimează o reducere de 15% a emisiilor de CO2 în 2023 față de 2022 și o scădere de 46% față de 2015. În plus, în primăvara acestui an, compania a anunțat o investiție de 2,1 milioane de dolari în peste 3.000 de panouri fotovoltaice la cele trei fabrici din România, reducând emisiile de gaze cu efect de seră (GES) cu aproximativ 500 de tone anual.
